Tactics:

  • Because it is purely animated by magic, it is suseptibile to all forms of negation.
  • Because of it's low health, it is a prime target for missile weapons or staffs.
  • Because it cannot cast spells, it can be safely ignored from a distance (depending on circumstances).

Desipte it's ability to ignite terrain, I don't believe it will directly burn a scroll lying on the ground unless the scroll is also lying on flammable terrain (needs verification).
