The term Spectral Sword is a misnomer as the sword is merely one of many types of Spectral Weapons. A spectral weapon is not always a sword nor is it's type randomly chosen. Spectral weapons are only conjured forth by a weapon of multiplicity. The type of the spectral weapon conjured will be of the same type as the currently wielded weapon (of multiplicity).

Spectral weapons should not be confused with the spectral blades produced by a goblin conjurer or a staff of conjuration. They are in fact often much more powerful. A spectral weapon will attack with the same accuracy and damage as the currently wielded runic weapon. In short, it attacks as if wielded by the Rogue himself.

Spectral weapons do not persist indefinitely as spectral blades do. The chance of a spectral weapon appearing, the number appearing and their lifespan are all influenced by the enchantment level of the wielded runic weapon (needs confirmation and a nice table with detailed (per enchant) information).
