This scroll also has the side effect of uncursing your armor - you can use this instead of remove curse in a pinch. Your cursed armor will also be protected, but the effect of a scroll of protect armor is subject to negation when it is lying on the dungeon floor. If you decide to use a scroll or charm of negation to remove the negative enchants on your armor, it will strip the protection as well.
You can tell which of your items have been protected; in the inventory screen, they will marked by a curly brace } instead of a parenthesis ).
