A silhouette of mournful rage against an empty backdrop, the phantom slips through the dungeon invisibly in clear air, leaving behind glowing droplets of ectoplasm and the terrified cries of its unsuspecting victims. |
Phantoms are permanently invisible which allows them to sneak up on you. Some options for revealing their position include:
- Telepathy
- Negation
- A staff of conjuration. Repeatedly summon spectral blades nearby and look for the gap in their positions.
- The phantom will be visible if it is on the same square as a gas.
- Lure it to a nearby hallway or other constrained space where the phantom will have fewer possible positions. Be aware that phantoms move quickly so they can attack you while you are repositioning.
- Moving around and trying to bump into it. Their flitting behavior can make their movement unpredictable though.
